Are you looking for a little liquidity? Do you own a timeshare that you purchased years ago but have not had the time to enjoy the benefits of? Well, the prices of timeshares are going back up, and many financial advisors have started advising their clients to sell their timeshares to create a cash infusion.
Of course, even upon being told this, most timeshare owners will just turn around and ask – “How do I sell my timeshare?” And this is a very valid question. Who buys timeshares anymore? Didn’t they disappear back in late 2007, when the recession hit?
The answer is that no, they did not. Timeshare firms suffered quite a bit from the recession, but the timeshares themselves remained, sitting on people’s balance sheets, never getting used (because by that point, people were more worried about not losing their job than about taking vacations).
Sell my timeshare news says things have changed, and we are now slowly moving out of the recessionary period of the last few years – and as a result, it seems that we are all in the mood for a vacation. And as far as vacations go, the cheaper the better – and what sort of product could offer a cheaper vacation than a timeshare?
Many people realize this – so yes, the timeshare market is still around. In fact, in the last few months or so (early 2010), a number of online marketplace sites have sprung up to connect buyers and sellers of timeshares. These are interesting, because they represent what is basically a huge resurgence of interest in timeshares – something that the timeshare industry, which is now almost dead, would certainly have appreciated a few years ago.
Actually, however, these online timeshare market places do not necessarily represent a good deal. In fact, if you are selling a timeshare, they may actually reduce the amount of money that you get, because of the intense competition on these sites. The best way to sell a timeshare is still the old way – through word of mouth, the way everyone did it back in the glory days of 2004.
